Join to WIN at the FIRST ANNUAL MSTF 2024 “Tango Salon” & “Jack-n-Jill“ Competition

Challenge yourself, show your skills, and take your tango to the next level! Plus, WIN amazing prices.

Both categories will be developed in 2 stages: a) Qualifying Rounds and b) Final Rounds - from Saturday, Feb. 10th to Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.

The judges will be composed of a minimum of 4 (four) members, who— understanding and accepting the rules of the competition, and committing to their compliance—will determine the score of the participating couples. Decisions made by the judges are final and will not be subject to appeal.

 

Minimum of 10 Couples, per category, must be registered by Friday, February 9th for competition to take place

 

Tango Salon Competition

This category is open to all dancers; all ages and levels of dancing. If you are an Argentine Tango enthusiast looking for the opportunity to challenge yourself and push your limits in order to develop your skills, this is the competition you must enter. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:::

  • You must register as a couple. A registration cannot be shared and is not transferable. There will be no refund of moneys paid if one or couple withdraws from the competition after it has began.

  • Tango Salon will feature multiple couples on the floor at the same time. Competitors will dance only one three song Tanda featuring classic tangos.

  • Our expert panel of judges, our Maestros, will evaluate competitors’s performances, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.

  • Competitors MUST be present at the Persian Room Ballroom no later than 7pm on Saturday, Feb 10th for 1st Ronda Preliminaries; top finalists will be announced at “Abrazame Asi” Milonga Sat. evening at 10pm. Top Finalists must return at 7pm Sunday, Feb 11th for Final Round. Winners will be announced at the “Mucho Mucho Love” Milonga that evening at 10pm.

  • Winners of this category commit themselves to participate in various ceremonies and events planned by Miami Sunshine Tango Festival organizers, such as press conferences, interviews for radio stations and over‐the‐air or cable television channels, etc.—if they are summoned for such purpose.

Jack -&- Jill Competition

No Partner, No problem! Competitors will be randomly selected through a raffle, they will meet on the dance floor without previous rehearsal and show off their skills together. All elements of tango are allowed. Judges will make their decision based on the connection, style, technique, elegance, cadence and musicality.

This is the ultimate challenge for a dancer. Unrehearsed, in the moment, adrenaline rush enhancing your talent and challenging you to dance your best with anyone you embrace!

  • Jack & Jill Competition will feature multiple couples on the floor at the same time. Competitors will dance only one, three song Tanda, featuring classic tangos. After each song, partners will be rotated.

  • Our expert panel of judges, our Maestros, will evaluate competitors’s performances, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.
